Referees, Coaches & Players

Please remember that our referees, coaches and players are all human and therefore can make mistakes! This is no reason to become agressive (including passive agressive) or hostile towards any members of the club or other clubs. Our aims as a club are to provide safe, enjoyable and friendly environment to allow our players, coaches and referees develop their skills and continue to participate in our sport. This does not mean we do not want to be competitive, just simply means we wish for all members to be respected and enjoy their time with us.

For our referees, we ask that everyone treat them with respect regardless of if you believe the call was not correct. We understand this can be frustrating if a call has not gone the way you expected or was completely missed but referees cannot be everywhere at once and therefore cannot see everything that may be happening. If you do have concerns about the way a game is being refereed, often having your captain or coach approach them in a calm way with your concerns is going to be much more effecient then becoming aggitated. This also will allow the referees to improve on their skills rather than becoming defencive of their calls. Refs are people too and will be able to grow if they have your support and appreciation. We could not play our sport without them. So to all Refs, we thank you!

For our coaches,

For our players, we ask that you recognise that they are not olympians and that you encourage them to succeed rather than put them down for their shortcomings. This includes making sure you do not degrade players on the opposing team to make your team look or feel better. We want to instill good sportsmanship within our club and therefore need to treat all players, regardless of their club with respect and kindness. Thank you for your understanding.

For more information on what to do if you feel you are not being treated kindly or with respect please check out these resources. Also, do not hesitate to speak with any of the ground officials or contact us about your concerns.
